Andrew Read is one of the most innovative and prolific photographers of his time,according to The Age,he is a “photographer’s photographer”.He first picked up a camera at the age of 10, and has retained a passion and enthusiasm for photography ever since.

During the early 1980’s and early ‘90’s, Andrew worked as a freelance photographer for editorial and commercial clients. These included New Musical Express, Sounds, Rolling Stone, The Australian Newspaper, The Age Newspaper. His photographs have appeared in Time, Life, Bulletin and Newsweek magazines, as well as ABC, BBC and GTV 9. He has worked for many years with the Gyuto Monks of Tibet, and in 2002 covered the Dalai Lama’s tour to Australia. His photographic work has been the subject of major exhibitions and he is a winner of Photographic Awards from around the world.

He has travelled to over 80 countries and has lived in Australia, Italy, New Zealand, Vanuatu, U.S.A. and The UK.

In the late 90s Andrew concentrated his photography on weddings and events in order to become more involved with his two young sons.
